A Catechist Guide for Sacrament Preparation 

Catechetical Leaders, Teachers and Catechists using Blest Are We Faith In Action and preparing children in first and second grades for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.  

 This resource enhances the lessons offered in Blest Are We Faith In Action series in order to address the skills, gestures, and practices related to each respective Sacrament, and offers proximate and immediate preparation options.  

•    Recommended order of lessons that correlate to and cross-reference the basal series, arranging chapters to align with typical parish preparation cycle
•    Additional or alternative activities for the instruction and exploration of the necessary skills, gestures, and practices related to the celebration of each Sacrament
•    Preparation process for traditional, restored order, and children’s catechumenate reception of the Sacraments
•    Identifies and supports readiness lessons that are essential for proximate formation (in Grade 1)
•    Letters and suggested activities for engaging families in the preparation
