Catechetical Sunday 2026
The theme for this year’s Catechetical Sunday on September 26th is “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me . . . to bring good news to the poor” (Luke 4:18, citing Isaiah 61:1). This theme celebrates catechists’ participation in bringing the joy of the Gospel and the Good News of Christ to all those in need. It also reminds all Christians of our call to follow Jesus in caring for the poor and those who are too often forgotten.
